Mills River Storage Center is a fenced, gated, well-lit storage facility on Boylston Highway (NC 280) in Mills River, NC, with drive-up units, wide drive aisles, outdoor boat and RV parking, an on-site manager during office hours, and 24-hour gate access for tenants. The property has been under the same local private ownership since 1998.
Secure perimeter
The property is fenced all the way around and entered through a controlled gate. Not a fence across the front with an open field behind it — the whole perimeter.
Well-lit grounds
Lighting across the drive aisles and unit rows, so a 9pm trip to grab something out of the unit doesn't feel like a bad idea.
Manager on site
The single biggest security feature we have is a person. Someone who knows which vehicles belong here, notices an open door, and can act on it immediately.
24-hour tenant access
Your gate access runs all day, every day, holidays included. Office hours govern when you can talk to us — not when you can reach your own belongings.
Wide drive aisles
Laid out so a box truck, a fifth wheel or a boat trailer can turn and back without a three-person operation.

Locks & payment, handled at the desk
We sell locks in the office — we recommend a disc lock — and take payment in person, by mail or over the phone.
Someone on the property
Cameras record. People intervene.
Cameras are genuinely useful — after something has already happened. They produce footage.
What they don't do is walk out into the lot at 3pm because a car has been idling in the back row for twenty minutes. They don't recognize that the guy at unit 40 isn't the guy who rents unit 40. They don't call you and say your door is unlatched.
A manager on site does all of that, and it's the reason a lot of our tenants have been with us for years.
