Does Mills River Storage Center have 24-hour access?
Yes — tenants have 24-hour gate access to their unit, seven days a week, including nights, weekends and holidays. The office is staffed on weekdays, but access to your own belongings is not limited to office hours.
What are your office hours?
The office is open Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 6:00pm, and closed Saturday and Sunday. Gloria, our manager, is on site during those hours. Is there a manager on site?
Yes — a manager is on the property during office hours. That means you can speak with a person who can walk out and look at a unit, sort out a gate code, take a payment, or handle a problem on the spot.
Pricing & terms
Do you require a security deposit?
No — there is no security deposit required to rent at Mills River Storage Center.
How does the second month free work?
Every new tenant gets their second month of rent free. It isn't a limited-time promotion with a countdown timer — it's a standing offer, and it stacks with the no-deposit policy.

Is the rental month-to-month?
Yes — month to month, no long-term lease. Store for one month or ten years.
What forms of payment do you take?
You can pay in person at the office, by mail, or over the phone. If you'd rather hand a check to a person than set up another online account, that works here.
Do you raise rates on existing tenants?
We have no scheduled rate increases. Your rent is not on an automatic escalator and is not set by revenue-management software that raises it because occupancy crossed a threshold.
Do you charge administrative fees or require insurance?
No administrative fees, and no required insurance. There is no setup fee, no admin fee and no hidden charges — the monthly rate you see is the amount you pay. We also do not require you to buy a facility insurance product. Your own homeowner's, renter's or marine policy typically already covers stored belongings; check with your agent.
Units & what fits
What size units do you have?
From 5×5 (25 sq ft) up to 10×30 (300 sq ft), plus outdoor parking spaces. The unit sizes page shows what roughly fits in each one.
Are the units drive-up?
Yes — every unit is ground-level with drive-up access — you pull your vehicle right to the roll-up door. No elevators, no hallways, no carts, no freight lift to wait on.
Do you have climate-controlled units?
No — all units at Mills River Storage Center are ground-level, drive-up units without climate control. That suits most of what people store here — furniture, appliances, tools, inventory, seasonal gear, boats and campers — and it keeps rates lower than climate-controlled space. If you're storing something genuinely climate-sensitive, such as fine art, a piano, vinyl records, or antique wood furniture over a long period, a climate-controlled facility is the better fit and we'll tell you so on the phone rather than rent you the wrong thing.
What size unit do I need?
Call and describe your load. Twenty-eight years of watching move-ins beats any online size calculator, and the manager will tell you if a smaller unit will do — which happens more often than you'd think.
Do I bring my own lock?
Bring your own, or pick one up at the office — we sell locks at the desk. We recommend a disc lock: the shackle is mostly enclosed, which makes it far harder to cut than a standard padlock.
What can't I store?
Standard restrictions apply: no food or perishables, no living things, no flammable or hazardous materials, no gasoline in stored equipment, and nothing illegal. One facility rule worth knowing: there is no trash disposal on site — when you clear out a unit, take the refuse with you.

Do you store boats?
Yes — secure outdoor spaces for trailered boats up to 40 feet, on a fenced, gated, lit lot with wide aisles. See boat storage.

Yes — motorhomes, fifth wheels, travel trailers and pop-ups, up to 40 feet in length. See RV storage.
Can I store a car or work trailer?
Yes — extra cars, work trailers and similar equipment are welcome in an outdoor parking space. One rented space, one item in it. The spaces are for storage rather than day parking.
